The Breitling Chronoliner
The Breitling Chronoliner is a watch that you remember. It stands out, yet it does so without seeming flashy. It’s sophisticated, durable, and overall, very useful. The Chronoliner is designed in the style of a Breitling model watch that was released in the 1950’s. You can still see see the touches of classical design from the time. Yet, it manages to meld this classical feel with sleek, sophisticated style.
The watch has a diameter of 46mm and a strapless weight of 118.57 grams. It’s not too large or heavy, but you know that it’s there. The interhorn width is a rather compact 24/20 mm with a thickness of nearly 16 mm.
Features
The Chronoliner has quite a few attractive features. Some are just for appearance and some help improve the watch’s durability or functionality. The primary feature of the watch is its broad bezel found in scratch-resistant ceramic. It makes for a grand appearance while also maintaining the highest possible level of durability. And it features a unique star-shaped design around the edges.
Of course, the bezel serves its purpose. It’s not just there to look good. The ceramic bezel is used to indicate a separate time zone. You simply adjust the bezel according to the time zone you want it to display and you now have multiple time zones in a single watch.
The watch is actually capable of displaying three different time zones. One uses the traditional hands of the watch, the second uses the outside bezel of the watch, and the third uses an independent hand. This hand is separated from the rest with a read tip. It isn’t quite as easy to read as the other hands or the bezel, but it’s still extremely accurate.
All three of the time zones are displayed in a traditional 24-hour format. It’s the perfect watch for someone who travels and needs to know the time wherever they are going. Or for that captain who needs to keep track of time during his flights. It claims to be an authentic captain’s watch and it most certainly is.
Additional Special Features
The Chronoliner comes with a power reserve that is capable of lasting 42 hours. It features a calendar with a dial aperture that is easy to read, understand, and adjust if need be. However, this is an extremely accurate watch and once you set it, there’s rarely any need to change it.
It comes with cambered sapphire crystal and is glare-proofed on both sides of the watch. There are also 25 unique jewels decorating the watch. And finally, the watch is extremely water resistant. It can handle depths of water up to 100 meters or 330 feet. So if you drop your watch in the toilet, in a swimming pool, or in a lake, you know it’s going to be okay.
Overall Review
The Chronicler is one of the best watches to come from Breitling. It’s classical, yet stylish. It’s extremely durable, water resistant, and highly accurate. It’s a watch that any man would be glad to wear.
