The Estate Jewelry Loan with the Best Cash Offers

Estate jewelry is another name for "used jewelry." Many people commonly refer to estate jewelry as antique jewelry, vintage jewelry, and period jewelry. Because it is very common for estate jewelry to not have a receipt or any documentation verifying where it came from. Without a receipt or any documentation you may get lots of different prices from other pawn shops purely trying to profit as much as they can off you. This makes it very important to bring your pieces to North Scottsdale Loan & Gold where our well trained staff can correctly appraise and authenticate your jewelry, gold, and diamonds.

Measuring Their Purity

Platinum - Gold - Silver

Precious Metals and Their Purity

Although many think that gold holds the most monetary value, it is actually the second.  Platinum exceeds gold in that category.  In addition, gold has more variances of purity than platinum or silver.  To clarify, platinum is either 90% - 95% pure, while silver has 4 degrees of fineness from 80% - 99.9%.  Meanwhile, gold is measured in 24 karats (aka each karat is 1/24th of purity).  So consequently, 10k gold equals 41.7% purity and 24k is 99.9% purity.  Nonetheless, we provide collateral loans on all estate jewelry, no matter what precious metal is used in the making.

Appraisals that Become Secured Loans

Accurate Appraisals

North Scottsdale Loan & Gold provides professional and accurate appraisals.  They begin with locating the hallmark (aka hidden stamp) on the jewelry piece.  Depending on the stamp or the maker, there are some that indicate the Era or Designer the piece came from. However, this is not always the case.  After that, a small sample of the precious metal is achieved with swiping it against a touchstone.  This does not scratch or harm your jewelry in any way.  Meanwhile, it does provide flakes of the precious metal to test validate the hallmark stamp.  Once the percentage of purity is confirmed,  the piece is put on the scale to measure the weight. Furthermore, the appraiser will refer to the Spot Price of the gold, silver or platinum to calculate the pending offer.

If there are diamonds, they are assessed separately from the precious metal they are set in.  They are examined for their cut, clarity, color & carat, which are referred to as the 4 C's.  As a result, the diamond is assessed and then added to the total of appraisal & the offer.

Any other precious gems that are set in a piece of jewelry are not measured separately from the precious metal.  But, they do add to the pieces value in whole.
